Directions is a pre e2e training programme for anyone aged between 16 & 18 who:
- Are Not in Education, Employment or Training
- Hold qualifications below Level 2 (5 GCSE’s at C or above)
- Are not in any form of Government funded education
Training takes place with one of the local training providers involved in the programme covering the following geographical locations
- Northampton
o Canto
o EYS
o Rathbone
- Daventry/South Northants
o Moulton College
- Kettering/ Corby
o Kettering Borough Training
o Youth Works Corby and Kettering CIC Ltd
- Rushden
o Canto
o Connexions Rushden
What Directions Is About
The Directions Programme offers individually tailored training to allow young people to develop their skills and confidence to help them to progress into work, further education, work based learning or e2e.
Young people on Directions will attend a training centre for up to 16 hours per week undertaking support and training which could include:
- Music (DJ, Mixing, Own Compositions)
- Qualifications (Or units toward)
- Job Search techniques and support
- Childcare/Parenting Skills sessions
- Mini Projects
- Confidence Building
- Sport (including football)
- One to one and group sessions
- Help to progress
Whilst on the course, the young person will also receive a Training Allowance of £30.00 per week and bonuses, currently £50 for completing a qualification (or unit toward) and £50 for moving into a positive progression.
The programme is a good opportunity to develop new skills, meet new people and improve employability skills.
